Launching: Endurance Units
We've been working behind the scenes to design, prepare, build, and test our Endurance Units. These are multi-day battery capacity, high quality video and data streaming units that will be deployed as an ad-hoc network ahead of hurricanes and other tropical events, even with some slight adaptations: blizzards and winter storms.
Our team members are working around the clock to ensure the most advanced, interactive, and comprehensive deployment mission ever done in this sector. As always, we're partnered with RadarOmega to ensure seamless and robust integration into the leading, -homegrown- weather radar application.
With it's advanced suite of tropical capabilities, including hurricane models, NHC data, and your choice of map layer, you'll find what you're looking for this hurricane season, whether you're an enthusiast watching from afar, or keeping tabs on ground-truth data for public safety. ALSO: we're launching a 24/7 broadcast (during events) featuring our deployment team members, our camera network, and data on YouTube. Watch for more details on that soon.
TOMORROW
It’s been quiet in the terms of “big events” lately, so it’s been quiet here on the blog, too. We’re monitoring tomorrow across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois for a potential small scale deployment of a few devices.
Expect storms to roll in from the west around 2pm across the Mississippi, then impact the I-39 region around 4-5PM.
I wouldn’t expect much for anything except some strong winds, but we can’t rule out tornadoes with a set up like this. These summer time midwestern set ups often do produce a tornado or two when you least expect it.
